Trigun: Vash's Mess Chapter One
Chapter 1
"Stop that man!"
Vash looked behind him. There stood a man with a gun pointed at Vash's neck. The man sweated with anxiousness.
"Don't move, or I'll shoot."
"Why?" Vash asked calmly. He raised an eyebrow and smiled. "What have I done to you?"
"You're the one criminal, Vash the Stampede. You've destroyed so many towns, and ruined so many lives. Why, you ask? You're a damn criminal!" The man looked furiously at Vash, "I want that sixty billion double dollars."
Vash looked at the ground. "I'm sorry you want to kill me. Its sad that you have to kill somebody, and then say everything will be better. It won't happen that way."
"I'll murder you, get that money, and help the towns you have destroyed."
Vash felt tears coming on. "How does killing me-"
"You have all that money on your head! I could take it all, and be rich! I'll help the towns that were destroyed! Are you that stupid?!"
There was a silence. Vash could hear the faint sound of the wind blowing, and heard the man who was threatening him reloading his gun with new bullets.
"What have you done now, Vash?" Meryl appeared out of the darkness. "Getting threatened, again?"
"Oh, insurance girl! Thank you!" He yelped like a schoolgirl.
"I'm not here because I want to be. Trust me, this is only my job. Now, what have you gotten yourself into?" She crossed her arms in great disgust.
"All I did was say my name!" Vash cried, "I didn't do anything! Honest!"
Meryl looked at the man who was obviously determined to kill Vash. "Well, just because he is the Humanoid Typhoon doesn't mean he'll destroy this town. You don't know this doofus the way I do," She paused and rolled her eyes. "This guy wouldn't kill anyone, and that includes bugs. He's a softie."
"Yeah, yeah," Vash nodded and smiled. "I'm so soft and fuzzy."
"I don't care! You may be different now, but you still need to be punished for your past!" The man sneered.
"Let him go," Meryl reasoned. "C'mon. This guy is really stupid. You must have enough heart to realize that he won't hurt anyone ever again. And, he might not even be the real Humanoid Typhoon. How does anyone really know?"
Vash kept nodding, obviously wanting to get away from this wacko. "Yeah, I may just have been bluffing!"
The man frowned. "And if you were lying, I will kill you anyway, just because you lied to those people about who you are, trying to scare them away!"
"WAAAHH!" Vash cried. "I just-" he stopped to wipe away a tear. "I WANT TO LEAVE!"
"For that, you'll be shot-"
Meryl grabbed Vash by the ear, letting him miss the bullet by a hair. "OW!" He wailed. "My ear!"
"Shut up, let's get the heck outta here!" Meryl led them out of the building. Vash's tears were flying all over.
"Will you stop crying? For a guy, you cry way too much," Meryl noticed Vash was falling behind and grabbed his wrist. "I got an escape vehicle!"
A few blocks ahead, Milly sat in a Jeep with her huge weapon. She waved, calling, "Hello Mr.Vash!"
Meryl and Vash jumped into the Jeep, and they blasted out of there.
"Man, I thought I was dead!" Vash said gasped for air.
"You should be thankful, we saved your sorry butt once again," Meryl scolded. "I hope you can fix this mess you've gotten into."
"Uh, Meryl?" Milly whispered. "Mr.Vash has fallen asleep."
"That idiot. Can't tune into a conversation for more than thirty seconds."
Milly smiled. "At least he hasn't left us."
Meryl let out a chuckle. "We'll bring him back to the saloon. There he can sleep with the rest of the drunks."
Chapter 2
"Hey, wake up."
Vash looked up through blurry eyes. "Huh?"
"GET UP!"
"Dah! You don't need to be hostile!" Vash said, realizing that the voice was Meryl's. "Where am I?"
"Your in a saloon. Take a look around. Last night we put you here, since you wouldn't be welcome anywhere else." Meryl explained. "You fell asleep after we escaped from that freak who was gonna kill you. Who was he?"
"I think his name was Jack. No, Bob. Or was it Billy?" Vash sat there scratching his head and wondering who that man could've been.
"Before you blow your small brain to bits," Meryl said, "I gotta say that I hate to tell you this, but you have to leave this town."
"Why?" asked Vash stupidly.
"Well, the news got around about last night, so now the town kinda said that if you don't leave, they'll force you out." Meryl got an annoyed expression.
"Oh." He said, standing up dizzily.
"Yeah, so now where are you gonna stay?" Meryl questioned.
"I think I can find somebody." Vash said.
"Who?"
"I know certain people." He said, then left the building.
"You better not expect us to help you if you mess up this time, buster!" Meryl called after him. Sometimes she could not stand that guy.
Milly looked at her. "I think Mr.Vash will be fine."
"I some how cannot believe that, Milly," Meryl said. She turned around and went back into the saloon. "Vash is an idiot. He'll always need our help."
"But what about all the different times he has saved people?"
"That's all he can do."
